Central meeting place on campus
The Student Service Center of Erasmus University Rotterdam came into being in a contrasting interplay of sustainability and user-friendliness, transparency and intimacy. The dynamic lines of the blinds on all four sides of the exterior are based on the path of the sun and regulate the exposure to sunlight and the heating requirements of the building. Consequently, the building’s appearance is constantly changing depending on the use of the interior and weather conditions outside. This flexibility reduces energy consumption and thus contributes to an environmentally compatible use of resources.
